Hi, I’m Dulce, and I serve as President of You Discover Math. I lead the organization’s strategy with a focus on building sustainable systems, meaningful partnerships, and programs that truly serve students and families across Houston.
My background is in finance/accounting and nonprofit leadership, and I’ve learned firsthand that passion alone isn’t enough. Access, structure, and follow-through are what turn good intentions into real opportunity. At YDM, I work behind the scenes to strengthen our operations, grow institutional and community support, and help bring programs to life that center youth leadership and multi-generational impact.
My commitment to this work is personal. As a parent and a first-generation advocate, I understand how confusing and limiting systems can feel when support and information aren’t accessible. That perspective shapes how I approach this work (with care, clarity, and accountability) so families can engage with confidence and students can see themselves as capable and worthy of opportunity.
Outside of YDM, I’m a mom of three. I spend most of my free time with my kids: traveling, camping, kayaking, hiking, or just curled up on the couch watching a movie together.
