An excellent role for:\u00a0 <\/span><\/b>Tech-savvy individuals or students with an interest in web development, design, and maintenance who want to support YDM’s mission to make math accessible and engaging for all.<\/p>\n

Time commitment:<\/span><\/b> 2 to 3 hours per week in a virtual format, for a period of at least 6 months. The schedule is flexible, tailored to fit your availability.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ideal candidates would have the following traits:<\/span><\/b> Detail-oriented and efficient; skilled or interested in learning HTML, CSS, WordPress, and other web development languages; experienced in website management through WordPress; willing to collaborate with multiple teams; ability to communicate technical concepts in a way that’s understandable to non-technical team members.<\/span><\/p>\n

Role Expectations\/Duties:\u00a0<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

  • Work closely with the current webmaster to receive hands-on training and support in any areas of interest or need, fostering a collaborative and continuous learning environment.<\/li>\n
  • Ensure the smooth running and optimization of YDM’s WordPress website, focusing on user experience and functionality.<\/li>\n
  • Collaborate with other YDM teams, especially Marketing and Outreach, to keep content up-to-date, attractive, and aligned with YDM’s mission and values within the WordPress platform.<\/li>\n
  • Implement regular updates, security measures, and backups to maintain the integrity and safety of the WordPress website.<\/li>\n
  • Utilize WordPress plugins and tools to enhance the site’s features and performance, making recommendations for additional tools as needed.<\/li>\n
  • Analyze website traffic and user engagement to suggest and make improvements, working closely with the Marketing team to align website strategies with overall organizational goals.<\/li>\n
  • Assist other YDM team members in understanding and utilizing the WordPress website for various needs, providing training and support as necessary.<\/li>\n
  • If needed, work with external contractors or agencies for specialized WordPress web development tasks, acting as a liaison to ensure alignment with YDM’s goals and quality standards.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
